we can work it out

nice day

"Say, Pooh, why aren't you busy?" I said.
"Because it's a nice day," said Pooh.
"But you could be doing something Important," I said.
"I am," said Pooh.
"Oh? Doing what?"
"Listening,"he said.
"Listening to what?"
"To the birds. And that squirrel over there."
"What are they saying?" I asked.
"That it's a nice day," said Pooh.
"But you know that already," I said.
"Yes, but it's always good to hear that somebody else thinks so, too," he said.

Imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, 'This is an interesting world I find myself in - an interesting hole I find myself in - fits me rather neatly, doesn't it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!' This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, it's still frantically hanging on to the notion that everything's going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise.

I want to go! @Wisdom2conf #wisdom2conf

The Wisdom 2.0 Conference is a one-of-a-kind event that launched in Silicon Valley end of April, 2010, and brought together people from a variety of disciplines, including technology leaders, Zen teachers, neuroscientists, and academics to explore how we can live with deeper meaning and wisdom in our technology-rich age.

Registration has recently opened for the 2011 Wisdom 2.0 Conference February 25th - 27th in Silicon Valley. You can do so here.

Can we live mindfully and wisely, and engage the great technologies of our age in ways that benefit us, our society, and world?

Harmony

Embracing the Way, you become embraced;
Breathing gently, you become newborn;
Clearing your mind, you become clear;
Nurturing your children, you become impartial;
Opening your heart, you become accepted;
Accepting the world, you embrace the Way.

Bearing and nurturing,
Creating but not owning,
Giving without demanding,
This is harmony.

Change We Can Believe In.

How 'bout this for change? The President hosts the largest international gathering since the creation of the united Nations in 1945.

He is making nuclear weapons the priority. And the world agrees

He said he would do this. He is going with the notion that countries can work together on things they *gasp* agree on.

I'm sure it will be classified as an attempt to "destroy our freedom."
