Lehigh, you're fired!

Fires raged out of control in Lehigh Acres, FL for more than 10 hours Saturday into this morning.

At least 12 homes have been destroyed and as many as 25 are damaged.

A 6:30 this morning, County Sheriff's Lt. Jim Drzymala said that nothing much had changed through the early hours today.

But, he said, fire officials are worried about more fires.

"As the humidity drops and the heat increases we're going to have a lot of hot spots flare up," he said.

Drzymala said about 1,700 people still remain without power and that LCEC would be working this morning to restore it.

There are 33 agencies and 175 firefighters from as far away as Sarasota County assigned to fight this blaze.
