Anti-Raves Act of 2011

in San Francisco would forbid any "public event at night that includes prerecorded music and lasts more than three and one-half hours."

  1. This is a shame; terribly misguided policy in SF. It harkens back to the days when SFPD tried to clamp down on the "Trip Fests" the Merry Pranksters and Phil Gramm produced back in the 1960s. SF is synonymous with counter-culture and nightlife. To try and do away with raves would be tantamount to sanitizing San Francisco to make it more like a nice, cozy Disneyland . . . or something to that effect. We are the definitive culture capital of the United States.
