Not good

So...what this means is that Massachusetts has just been won by a Republican.

The seat that used to belong to Edward Kennedy.

This election is important because it disarms the formerly held democratic
"Super-majority"

(Which, by the way, when did 60 become the number required to pass abill? I thought the majority of 100 members was 50??)

Here's the latest:

The White House says President Barack Obama has called Republican Scott Brown to congratulate him on his victory over Democrat Martha Coakley in the Massachusetts Senate race.

The Republican victory is a major setback for Obama. It could make it harder, if not impossible, to pass his health care overhaul bill.

Obama also called the defeated Coakley. She quoted the president as saying, "We can't win them all."
