Free wifi in Napa

If a deal can be worked out with AT&T, Napa could become the envy of most American cities by offering free, public wireless Internet service.

AT&T wants to build a wireless Internet network serving both the public and the Napa Police Department, which recently upgraded mobile computers in patrol cars.

Napa would be one of the first so-called Wi-Fi cities, allowing residents and tourists to access the Internet from home, work, car or open space.
